After 30 Years, It’s Official: Scootering Has Made It to the X Games!

The whole world was watching New Orleans as scootering finally received its first official demo event at the X Games.

And it was an absolute celebration! The eight selected riders had 20 minutes to compete in a Best Trick Contest – and they truly delivered. Tricks such as a 900 Flair and attempts at a Triple Flair showed just how technical, powerful, and acrobatic the sport has become.

According to reports on social media, the livestream audience numbers were reportedly twice as high as those of other sports featured at the event. Professional skateboarders were standing next to the ramp, cheering on the riders and showing their support. The barriers around scootering continue to get smaller.

Will Scootering Stay?

The question was simple:
“Should scootering stay, or not?”

The results of the audience vote were recently released – and they speak for themselves:

97% voted YES.

Scootering has proven that it belongs on the biggest stages, and this could be the beginning of a new chapter for the sport.
